Keyless entry problems
My keyless entry remote has stopped working... I have a feeling it might be due to some moisture that got in...but I'm not sure. Is there any way to reset the keyless entry reciever or a fuse to check? Thanks, and if it was covered in the Hayned manual or some other manual I checked but did not see anything relevant? Do I need to go to a ford service center for something like this?

I found this on the interweb..It's the UK version but it's the same steps... Could be the batteries. If it's shot, they're cheap to buy online. |
Thanks, but no dice :( I am pretty sure it is a problem on the recieving end not the transmitting end, I have put a new battery in and check the PCB, and everything looks dandy. Is there anything else to try? Thanks!

what did you get water in? the car or the key FOB? If it's the fob, you may have caused a fatal short and it'll need to be replaced. If it's inside the car, eeek... hope someone knows more than me on that.

maybe one of your friends with a mustang swapped the keyless entry remote as a joke

Yeah it was inside the car, the trunk more specifically. I had a bottle of windex that had been sloshing around back there that I forgot about and one day looked back there and found an empty bottle of windex, and a wet trunk mat. It was soon after that that my keyless stopped working.
p3s7 01: And right before it stopped working funny enough my friend did go out to my car, and he hit the unlock button ( that's what he told me atleast) and the alarm started going off and I couldn't get the remote do disable it or, work for that matter after that incident. I don't know if that detail sheds any light on the topic..? Anyone else have something similar happen? |
