4.10 installed today

Just picked up my car with my new 4.10. My installer test drove it with me in it. No break in time needed. He said if it don't whine it's set up right. It doesn't whine at all. The only thing it does is get thru 1st and 2nd way quicker than it did before. I've read a few things about the Motive gear sets saying they whine but mine don't. So if anyone is thinking about a set I would recommend them without question. :punk:

Got mine installed today as well and all I can say is DAMN! Shorty antenna, chin spoiler, and 4.10 gears should've come factory on all GT's. I've been going relatively easy on mine, I was told by the installer not to romp on it too much for the first 50 miles, then let them cool off completely (overnight) and after that they'll be good to go.

My gear was my birthday present from my wife. How cool is that? How many wives do you know that will buy you something to make your car faster? She has her own 03 GT, but won't let me touch it. Enjoy the gears, I'm enjoying mine.

Congrats, you just bought the best bang for the buck (other than nitrous) mod you can for our cars. Enjoy it. :D And no, there is no breakin required for gears.

Im gonna have to 1up you though----> back when I had my 4.6 T-bird, my girlfriend(still got her...8years now and counting) bought me Flowmaster cat-back and a $2k stereo system....AND new tires!!! on my b-day.

i would still be easy on the gears, i've heard that they need it more from known mustang shops than people saying it didn't need a break in. i didn't give my first set a break in and a year later they took a dump. someone else's pinion seal blew out before they got home, but he was told not to get on it and he left the shop probably with a 60ft black mark and before he got home, the pinion seal blew out and all the fluid came out. The no whine is a good sign.

congrats on the gears they are noticable.

Yep, I think you got me beat. But I'm not doing to bad. My ex. couldn't have given a rip about any of that either. But she's history. The grass is greener on my side now.

So far, it looks by the mileage I've driven that I'll average about 18-20 MPG on this tank. That's driving it pretty hard too. Before the switch I was averaging between 19 and 20 per tank.
