Accufab Plenum Problem

I installed my Accufab plenum/throttle body last week & there is one hose that doesnt match up. I bought the plenum used so Im wondering if thier was something I didnt get.

My car is a 2002 4.6

This is not a pic of my engine but this is the hose that doesnt fit.

There is supposed to be another larger hose with the setup.

The hose on the car is too big.

MattJ 08-03-2006 06:25 PM

I used the stock one on mine and didnt get a different hose. Any hardware store or autoparts will have the hose for that.

Alright, I will try autozone. I have a dyno pull tomorrow so I want everything running correctly.

stage2roush2002 08-05-2006 12:26 PM

Ok I fixed that problem but now there is another.....:wallbash:

When I rev my engine, as the rpms come back down they hold at 1,800rmps for about 4-5 seconds and then drop back down to idle. Any ideas?

IAC perhaps....but check your connections at you air intake and the plenum and TB. make sure its all evenly tight.

I know a lot of tb/plenums do that after an install but ive seen the computer fix that problem itself after a couple of days. Mine did it as well.

Saleen S330 08-05-2006 04:52 PM

New the plenums don't come with a hose, they come with 2 adapters that you tap into place, one for a small hose and one for a big hose, you just need to go to your auto part store for the hose to match.

same thing with mine, the stock hose on mine was too small and just went to autozone and bought 2in of 3/8 rubber hoses they have...and it works just fine!

stage2roush2002 08-05-2006 10:22 PM

I fixed that problem. Now when I rev the engine or coming to a stop the car holds at 1,800 rpms for 4-5 secs and then drops down. Any suggestions?

PureStang 08-05-2006 11:33 PM

IAC may be bad..or a bad MAF

And how would I fix that?

Everything is fine with your car. I did the same install 2 weeks ago. You need to get about a 2" peice of 3/8" hose from an auto parts store. It fits perfectly over the pipe and into the hose. Now with the hanging rpms, you were supposed to disconnect your battery when doing the install for the IAC to reprogram itself. If you didn't do that, then unplug the battery for a half hour. Then the car will still do it for a few miles untill the computer reprograms itself. I had the hanging rpm problem when i installed my JLT RAI. They hung for about 14 miles, then the computer reprogramed itself and everything was fine. Good luck!

Alright I will try that

Saleen S330 08-09-2006 04:44 PM

it takes 10 mins for the EEC to reset itself. also if you would have drove it longer, the EEC would have learned it and corrected itself. but undoing he battery is faster. hope it fixes it.

stage2roush2002 08-09-2006 07:38 PM

It didnt work

I took of the diablo sport tune and unconnected my battery & will try it in the morning. I will drive it without the tune untill it corrects itself and then reinstall the tune.

stage2roush2002 08-13-2006 07:49 PM

Without the tune it held at 1,500 rpms for 3 days. It hadnt fixed itself and then the service engine light came on.

The trouble code read: Running to lean (Bank 2) What does this mean?

I reinstalled the Diablo Tune and the light went away but now the engine holds again at 2,000 rpms for awhile and drops back down. I need to fix this because cams go on tuesday and I dont want everything to blow to hell.

When I got that code it was a loose vac. line. Check all you lines when your engine is warm and see if any are loose, if so, just throw a clamp on it and clear the code.
