Roll Cage

Since my car is a convertible, am I required to install a roll cage to race at the tracks? Also, I would feel a little safer if I had one.

Any suggestions of a good roll cage?

You need to call or go to their website, they usually will tell you the rules or if you call they will. Were i go, you don't need one, but other places require a 4 point and a helmet if you have a convertible. Also if you keep the top up, they shouldn't ask if you have one.

verts faster then 13.99 need a cage. Do most track enforce that? not really.

Go check because it recently changed for 2006.

and what you want is a 'roll bar' not a 'roll cage' a bar is a 4-8pt that has a bar over your head, were as the cage goes down the A-pillers etc.

i know before this year the rule was for a coupe, 11.99-10.00 needed a 'bar' were as faster then 10.00 needs a cage.

as of 2006 11.50-10.00 needs a bar.

I cant say for sure about the vert though

What's that black bar behind your head for? I'm not very familiar the Vert's isn't that a rollbarish thing? or a body stabilizer?

Styling Bar. They do add to help make it more rigid, but it's for looks too.

Yeah I dont think it would help much if I flipped. Its more for style.

Thats what I meant...a roll bar, where could I find a good one? and can I take it in and out?

U can bolt it in or weld it in, but your rear interior side panels will have to have a hole cut for it to connect the rear part of the roll bar. So taking it in and out is possible but it will be a pain in the a$$ to do it. I would just weld it in and call it a day. and yeah the styling bar, i wouldn't call it a life saver.

Weld the bar in, dont bolt it in. Thats like bolting in subframes. :poke:

Anything with 8 points or less is a roll bar. Anything with more then 8 points is a cage.

Ford Verts it sbeen that for awhile now. Like i said though most places dont enforce it becuase its kinda retarded. Fromw hat i see most places dont care till you in the 12's or 11's in a vert. Coupe they cant say **** till 11.99. This is all of last years rules it could be different this year i havent looked yet.
