03-04 Cobra IRS schematics

Anyone know where to get any 03-04 Independant Rear Suspension schematic's on a Cobra?

I used google and just came up with useless stuff.

so you want to put the Cobra IRS on your GT? What are your plans for the car...drag racing, road racing or just street use?? I hope r3dn3ck chimes in because he know's A LOT about suspension and has first hand experience with several types of suspension.

Strictly road racing and auto crossing! Pretty soon the car will be paid off and will see 90% race use only and VERY little street use.

If you don't have a back problem that would prevent a solid axle from doiing the trick, I'd avoid the IRS. I've had a couple and while they're mind numbingly simple to install (really super easy), they're heavy and fragile and expensive to maintain and even more expensive to hop up for more power or abuse.

That said, you don't need schematics. Just buy a complete IRS w/ driveshaft, shocks, springs, cat back and ABS sensors. Install, done. I have a spare set of rear cradle brackets you can have for 30 bucks for the set.

If you want to get the kind of performance you'll need to be competitive, then I'd suggest a panhard bar and torque arm setup along with tubular control arms and coil-overs from Maximum Motorsports.

My 01 and 03 GT's both had IRS's and I ran them HARD. Broken parts were a way of life after a short while. I even modded them for more durability and got ok results but even more weight and 3-liink cars would still walk around me. With IRS there's big wheel hop on hard braking which can send you into a spin, wheel hop on hard cornering, push followed by snap oversteer on long corners, arrgghhh... it was just such a PITA to own.

I've since gone to the MM Max Grip box and I tell you what, I'm MUCH faster with the stick than I was with the IRS. It's a lot more driver skill/attention intensive to push a MM 3 link to the limit than an IRS but it's also a butt load more predictable and linear. Besides the fact that the 3 link has gobs more rear grip than the IRS.

Just saw the last part about heavy race duty. That makes the case for a live axle SO MUCH MORE IMPORTANT. Lots of racing duty shreds IRSs up bad. You have to make them so unstreetable to race them and drive them home that it's just not worth it.

I've had the exact same problem… I'm using a built 302 in a wheelchair accessible trike using the same rear subframe differential combination. I can't find squat. I do have one in my workshop but, I'm having a hard time finding anyone that's motivated to help me move some stuff to reach it.
