Wheel spacer ????
 

I just got a set of 1" spacers, they are from MT. The factory acorn nuts after install stick out about 1/8-1/4 inch as to not allow the backingplate of the rim to seat flat against the spacer, it rides agianst the lugnuts. Any one have this happen? I thought about just grinding the nuts down, but this can't be right.

Why are you using 1" spacers? Get some open ended lug nuts or cut the top off of the stock ones.

I have open lugs, the stock ones, I can't believe you have to cut the damn things. Was going to put on to get the tucked look out. I have 9" wheels with 275/35/18 tires and the 1" spacer puts the tire even with the fender and matches the front.

I got 1" spacers from MM a few years ago and they came with open lugs to hold the spacer to the axle...

I don't think the stock nuts will work, unless your Mustang came with hub cabs :poke: and since it sounds like your spacers didn't some with nuts you'll have to get some regular old open nuts... 'cause if the the wheel don't sit FLAT against the hub very bad things will happen...

I fixed it. The wheels I have have a space that the factory ones don't, the factory studs fit right in. The 1" made a dif, I'm unsure if I like it. I can't post pics right now or I would. I have the open nuts, it's that the back of the stock wheels, I used for test fit, are flat on the back, the studs from the spacers stick out just a bit and rub against this flat area, so I didn't think they would work. The AR rims I have have spaces almost 1/2" deep where the studs lineup, so the studs just fit in and allow the wheels to fit flush...no prob!
