Diff? btw 96-97 or 02-04 powerdyne supercharger?

Is there a differnce between the two superchargers? I thought that the engines were the same from 97 to 2004. I found a good deal on a supercharger and want to know if it will work on my car or not.

Thanks

dont even bother buying a powerdyne supercharger. go to modular depot and do a search for powerdyne.

the blower is the same the way it mounts to the engine is different. The early 4.6's have a different Cam cover with different mounting locations then newer models.

good info spike.

the blower kits for 96-98 also come with an FMU normally. 99-04 have returnless fuel systems which don't allow for FMU's.

A couple words of advice that you can tell me to shove if you want. At least it's free advice...

Powerdyne is my last choice in blowers. Reliability isn't the highest as the belts do break enough to be a nuisance. Their gear driven blowers still aren't up to Vortech or Paxton standards.

Vortech and Paxton are great blowers. Very reliable and they make mad power. Support isn't always the best but they're at least going to try to make you happy.

Procharger... they come with intercoolers which I like. I don't like that they have a small oil supply of their own that isn't filtered and has to be changed separate from the engine oil. No bwaynoh. Procharger are my second choice behind paxton/vortech. They do build boost earlier than most which is nice.

i think a powerdyne is pretty much good for a daily driver with low hp needs. I would get the FRPP blower over this one though. The boat guys seems to like powerdyne though.
