Tips and Urban Legends on installing a clutch with LT Headers

So i'm gonna intall a spec flyweel and clutch in my stang. I also have LT headers...

I heard once that I need to remove one of my LT's to drop the tranny and/or remove the starter. IS THIS TRUE? I need to know how much help and time it's all gonna take. I also heard that if I do remove one header, that in order to do so, I'll have to raise the engine. Is this so?? cause I have never done this either. I'm a helicopter maintainer by day so i'm used to tight places and PITA bolts. I just need to know how many six packs and friends am I gonna need... plus how much rented garage time to reserve (typical weekend???)..

Please, if you done this before, help me out.

also.. how many non-inclusice parts am I looking at. Example .. Bearing retainers etc... which lube to use on the throwout bearing, dowels?)

yes, I already have an firewall adjuster and quadrant.

thanks in advance for the help.

I have LTs and it looks like you can still drop the trans, again looks like it will come down and back then out. If you have to remove the pass side you will need to jack up the motor, drivers side will come out with just the st. shaft out of the way, I installed mine in this way so I KNOW this will work, and the starter on the pass side also will need to come out. I hope someone who has done this can answer you 100% for sure, again it looks to have plenty of room under my car, can't see any reason why you can't drop the trans. Good luck.

thanks

thanks alot for the help guys. I plan on atleast taking some pictures depending on how easy the removal/installation is going.

Any clue on wear parts like retainers that will need to be replaced? The throwout bearing is included in the Spec Stage 1 Kit seen here on MT aswell as the alignment tool.
