Silencer Removal

Hey, how do I remove my intake silencer? I have the stock tube and stuff with a K&N Cone Filter so im pretty sure the silencer is on there. I know on honda's its mid-way up the pipe but i cant seem to find anything. Can someone help me out?

Silencer is attached to eggshape air box, it looks like a oval funnel and goes from airbox to fender. If there is a hole on the side of airbox someone has removed it already. If its there pull it right off you will have to remove the bolt that holds the airbox before you do. As you can see by the pic its removed on mine.

oh cause i totally removed the egg shell piece so the cone filter is exposed 100% so i figure the resonator is no longer in existence lol nice thanks

Just a curiousity question here, what does removing the silencer do? Like I said, just curious to know.

It gives you .0000000000001 hp j/k it will give you the best HP per $$$$$ since its free to do it, some run without the eggshaped airbox and have filter exposed. Ford has this to quiet the intake thus being called the silencer and not the best for making the most hp out of your engine. Try drinking a shake with a coffee straw.

Okeydokey...I figured that's all the silencer does...but I still wanted to ask.

Moved to General tech...the How To section is for writeups and questions in reply to them, not to ask general questions. :D
