4.10's 4.10's 4.10's

All I gotta say is 4.10's rock... 3.73's suck. had'm both. Just for anybody who's planning on gear swaps.

Can you thoroughly explain the benefits of "gear swaps"?

What ration will be better for what, or perhaps point me in the direction where I can find that info.

people ask the same question alot....just run a search on this site for gears or 4.10's or .3.73's a bunch of stuff will come up.

Funny how you hear this often, but rarely hear, "Damn, I wish I went with 3.73 instead of 4.10".

4.10s FTW!!!:D

Depends really on where your power band really hits. Realistically, if you start into the peak power area at 2500rpm like a 5.4L then 3.27 or 3.55 are probably the best choice, if you are hitting peak tq closer to 4000 rpm then 4.10's are great at getting you there faster. If you're running a high winding race motor that spins 7500rpm before it starts petering out, then 4.30's or even 4.56 are a better choice.

Ask Saleen S330 how he likes his 3.73's now. I'll bet he ends up dropping to a 3.55 gear pretty soon so he can find a little more traction.

the 3.73's still seemed sluggish to me, that's why I changed. I wish I had went and gotten 4.10's the first time. I originally thought 4.10's wouldn't be practical for everyday driving, but gas milage isn't really affected, I have enough acceleration to give c5's a run for their money stop light to stop light... and hooking up hasn't really been an issue either. I love how they keep the 4.6 in the powerband.

Yeah, and don't think that 4.10's are only for N/A cars too. :shifty:
