Help with trans decision

Well i talked to the shop guy today and got sme price quotes for my new engine, its goign to cost me close to 5K for the rebuild headers, and cams, including labor so that leaves me with some money, so basically i was just asking him a bunch of questions about what i could do, so asked him how much it would be to do a manual conversion, and he said since the engine and trans will be out he wont charge me anything, only to charge me to tune the comp. So i was like well I will eventually be doing a convertion anyway so I decided to go ahead and do it, or just look into it, so I plan on getting the T5 (its real cheap) or the t3650, the t56 is out of the question too much. My question is does anyone know where they sell cheap cluths and flywheels and anyone know where i could get a pedal assembly other than ebay????

I figure if i can find these part cheap, it should be a steal!!

please help

thanks

Heck yeah! I cant wait! Ill send you my stock stall then you can add them up ha ha lol, hey does a stall help you out just from a stop or from a roll too>? I dont quite understand how a stall works, I do know that it multiplys for torque

For tranny parts and good deals check out www.ddperformance.com
When i upgrades my 97 clutch components to 11in, i went through them and hardly spend much at all.

Sorry, but can you all tell me what you're talking about? I'm referring to the term "stall".

Thanks.

Has some info

FYI automatic tranny weighs more than a manual and you loose more HP through the drivetrain.

stall is referring to a higher than stock stall speed on the torque converter. Stall speed is the point where engine speed and trans input shaft speed are the same. Search for how a torque converter works and you'll understand more.

Skip the T5 unless you're fixing to spend some money to get it built up. 3650 is a better tranny but it's generally a tad more pricey than the nearly free T5. Swapping to a 5 speed is for guys that don't drag race so decide if you want to road course the car or drag race. Road courses make manuals pretty useful. If I were you and intending on doing any drag action, then I'd get 4.10 gears and a 2800 stall converter and a nice size tranny cooler.
