Question Revamping the Admins/Mods

First off I would like to say all of the admins/mods are doing a good job or at least the active ones. Whats the point of having admins/mods that haven't been on in weeks, months are even years. we would greatly benefit if we have got rid of some of the not so active mods/admins and replaced them with current active members that would do a good job.

So what do the rest of the members think we should do about the Admin/Mod situation. Please vote in the poll. Results will not be made public.

I don't know if I'd go quite to the extreme of 'replacing' the current moderators, but maybe adding some new ones with limited power, maybe?

This spam stuff is getting way out of hand, and the current moderators (though they've done a good job removing in time) haven't removed these threads fast enough before everyone else sees them. Some of these members have kids who could run into some of the more raunchy/racy spam...we've got to make a change of some sort.

I never said replace the current mods. Im talking about replacing the inactive ones with ones that will be more active. it will be best for the forum IMHO

Nothing is going to change until the owners of the site come back and help us out which happens randomly.

Click the Contact Us button at the bottom of the page and tell them to come help us with the spam problem we are having. I am trying to get alot of people to email them so they will help us sooner.

I check in about 10-30 times a day at least...lol. I would have no problems banning spammers, I hate them. We need more active members as mods...too many mods hardly ever log on anymore.

I am almost always on when I'm at work but I haven't been with the forum that long so I wouldn't want to be a mod I'd just like to have a ban hammer so I can ban them before they post cause I always hit the whos online button and you can tell by the names of the people registering if they are spammers or not

Then after they register, check their profile and you'll see the spam link in their bio...

There don't need to be anymore mods, the forum just needs a software update with better spam prevention, it's a vbulletin board so it's definitely possible to make registration for spammers practically impossible. Since there are probably only 20 people who post here regularly, and obviously some of them want to have the ability to ban people; with the amount of drama between members on this board it wouldn't be long before we had another Mattj instance and people start banning people they don't like just because they can. Anyone who gets into emotional based arguments and constantly has back and forths with another member should not be someone who could possibly **** with other users' accounts. If that happens I'm outta here. Hell, I just want to skin the forum so it looks good; who gives a **** about spammers.

While the spam is annoying as ****, it gets deleted. It's not like it has to be deleted the second after its posted. Once its flagged its fine, there is no need to make a huge deal about it, thats even more annoying. Once IP bans are passed that'll be easily taken care of.

Who is this Top Admin/Owner guy anyways. And why the hell is he never on here? He obviously doesn't care about this forum anymore so he should just hand over the keys.

I do agree that some new admins (maybe 1 or 2) should be added, but not kick out any current ones whether they post here or not. Everything is fine how it is. And handing the 'ban hammer' to everyone isn't a good idea at all...

But anyways enough of that bullshit, more importantly: We need a new skin on this board. Pcola has that department covered but no one has access.

Actually in my first car, it was a green Toyota 4-Runner and I had a Stuffed Turtle that I kept on the dash (stuffed like the trunk monkey, I'm not into taxidermy)...so I definitely respect the trunk monkey. You've just got to get better pictures of your car before I'll go parading it in my sig...haha

Well back on topic, I completely agree with every word PCola said in his post. And honestly, if we had to vote in a new mod my vote would go to PCola, even though he's a white supremacist, he's one of the most level headed members we've got on the forums.

We have alot of active Mods and Admins. We don't really need more but what we really need is alot better owner support.

I might not post as much anymore but I still read the threads.
