Why is this Forum constantly broken?
I've been using this forum for quite some time as a informational resource and finally decided to become a member. There is times where I can even load the site. I ping the server, nothing, I ping the name servers, nothing. This leads me to believe that the hosting service = crap, and can't hand the load. I also see the number of posts dwindling away. It seems like overall moral is low and the quality of service is low. :nono:
Here is a list of suggestions to improve this forum: 1) Fix the hosting issue. :moreboost: 2) Fix the code / DB issues. 3) Have a specific section that is monitored by American Muscle / Mustang Tuning employee(s) so that part questions / order issues can be discussed, since they don't answer their e-mail. (They should also have an order status on the main site apart from this.) 4) Get more people involved, it gets depressing when I have nothing interesting to read. :poke: OK, well that was my (2) cents. :Woot: |
I'm not sure what's going on, but it is getting pretty annoying if I do say so. This is by far my favorite site, but I think people are going to start leaving if the problems continue...Anyway, the mods and site manager has been pretty good about fixing problems so we'll see what happens.

Is this site being hosted on servers you maintain locally or co-lo? What is your bandwidth cap and what server OS and Webserver is the site running on? I also notice you're using vBulletin 3.5.4, the latest version is 3.6.1, which you should be able to upgrade to for free if you have the (Owned License). Have you also updated / patched MySQL and PHP?
Not be be rude or anything, but it almost seems like the server is running on someone's Windblows box in an office somewhere connected to a DSL modem at best. :kekekegay: Oh, and to help in troubleshooting, I tend to get this error quite often when posting, after submitting the post: "Invalid Forum specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator". It seems to forget where it was, going back and refreshing often resolves this and sure enough the post goes through. |
these forums have been nothing but trouble since the switch. its killing the people who post because no one wants to come to a forum thats always broken.
