Personally ive got sct xcal 2, but id go with whatever people dyno with in your area just in case. dyno tuners can use handhelds and usually do instead of burning chips

^^^^ agree. Unless you will be tinkering with it a lot, get what the pros use in your area.

i see so when i order witchever one, do i have to take it to a dyno place and have them work with it or what? Im not very familiar with the tuners. Correct me if im wrong dont i order it and then hook it up to my cars computer and put in a tune? Myself or what? IM thinkin about going with the predator
I guess what im trying to ask is can i just order the tuner and do everything myself? I don't plan on gettin it dynoed

Yea. You plug it in underneath your dash. It's underneath and to the right of the steering column. Hit a couple buttons and you upload it into the comp and your good to go.

well i think im gonna go with the sct xcal2.. How did you end up with free tunes for life? 15 dollars a tune isn't too bad either, i read on diablosport.com that you have to pay the dealer a one time fee of 250 for them to set it up. thats crap. Im gonna go with sct and get 3 custom tunes with it.

Then why does the #1 Mustang tuner in KC recommend the SCT?

Because that's his preference. I've never used a Xcal2, but my Predator has been great over the past few months. Like was said earlier in the thread, the results will only be as good as the tuner that writes the program.

I dunno.. I see more people recommending SCT now than Diablo.. I would say that was different about a year and a half ago. I personally went with SCT Xcal 2 and drove 4 hours to get to someone who I trusted to do a good dyno tune with it. I didn't regret it all

Before I bought one (1 year ago), I did a ton of research....and the Diablo Predator was the one most people suggested...I do not have a ton of mods, but I had to have one to calibrate my speedo....

I have not gone and had my car dyno tuned yet.....but when I called around, MC said they will work with either.....

Who did your tuning?

Very good advice! I got a diablo predator a while back and when it came time to get a dyno tune pretty much all of the tuners in my area were using SCT software....I had to search pretty damn hard to find someone that used Diablo where I live...just make sure you check that out before purchasing a hand held tuner.
