Default Starting Noise...

So yea lately when i turn the car on at first I hear a scratching noise, and then everything is alright. Nothing feels different it just makes the noise at first and then nothing. After It's been running for awhile and is good to go for the day it won't make the sound. Is this somethin i gotta get checked out.

could be your starter...the scratching would then be from the flywheel. I had that problem on my older car and once I got the starter replaced, all was well..

Is the cratching noise only after it had set for a while? for example: you turn it on and it scratches..let it idle for a few..turn it off and then back on, does it still scratch?

Another vote for starter. They usually start-off doing this as you describe and then got to complete crap.
