What is the differnece between the 3.8 liter and the 3.9 liter V6? Is there a difference in power? What was the cause for the change?...just wondering

 

Ford got bored, not much difference really.

If I remember correctly the same engine is used in the windstar minivan and they bored the cylinders just a tad for the van to run a larger pistons I think. thus giving a slight increase in displacement. As far as I know there isnt any real difference other than that.
