Default Tough to drive in rain with big power?

Since superchargers give power in all rpms, I was wondering something. Even at my tad-over-stock hp, when it's raining and I accelerate too quickly onto the onramp of the interstate, I spin my tires and can possibly go sideways(have gotten close before, accidently).

So, if you got a 03-04 cobra or any stang w/ upwards of 4-500 hp, is it hard to handle the gas when you need to accelerate quickly(like the onramp) and if its raining? I just figure if its possible for 260 hp, Its be a bitch for 400 or more.

A couple months back MM&FF had an artical on a yellow Mach 1 with a Twin turbo, nicknamed the side winder, sayin it would go zero to sideways in no time...there fore i'm assuming YES is the answer to taht problem. Lol...

As far as my lil V6, that one tire fire can really be a bitch in the rain, luckly with the wider tires i got now, it's alot better, but still from time to time I spin one tire from a start....also makin a left turn real quick in the rain can send me spinning.

After 30 years of driving with 0 accidents and numerous fast cars I can safely say, You have to know your power. If you spin out on a wet road no matter what you drive it is your fault. You have to know when to pedal it. If you can say I just lost it without hitting black ice or someone ramming you from behind then you need to learn how to drive. Period.

With cars like that you have to be carefull how you drive it. You dont fly on an onramp in 3rd gear at 4000 rpm because you know what will happen. You take it slow at 4th or 5th so something like that is less likely to happen.

Before Danny replies look at the obvious if you spin out at 260hp why wouldn’t you spin out at 400hp? You can even eat it with a 127hp civic. That is why 1. There is a safe off ram speed limit. 2. Slippery and rain go hand in hand. God please

wow. You guys never cease to amaze me. You delete pages of insults in another thread for a new girl who will probably never post again, yet even the mods are participating in bashing me? wtf. I thought the rule in the forums was just answer any question honestly, no matter how dumb. And it wasnt a dumb question.

It really doesnt matter how much hp your car is making. When you got those wide tires, thats when you are really going to have problem.

Why would that HURT your performance? Wider tires give you better traction...

In the rain, when those wide tires hit a puddle they get a hydroplane effect.

I have always heard Mustangs were bad for spinning around on ya. I got mine cocked sideways a couple times where i was at that critical 180 spin mark. I just let off and it snapped right back in line. I loved it.. But I can see how one could bring her around without meaning to.

wider tires = less weight per unit of area (pound per square inch). that is a bad thing on a wet road with decreased friction.
