Default Fake Cobra

Well was out driving around and drove by a used car dealer and I saw what seemed to be a 01 Black Cobra sitting there.I had to turn around and go look and see.Well no one was there to talk too but after first looking at it I started to notice that it did'nt look right.First off it had 03 Cobra wheels on it,yes they could be an upgrade so I started looking a little closer at it.The hood was a V6 hood with the small reverse scoop,on the rear it had a regular GT bumper and over the Ford emblem was a Cobra overlay sticker. Also it had a SVT emblem where the GT badge usually is and it was'nt straight like someone had put it on there in a hurry. Also the spoiler is the MRT spoiler I'm pretty sure.

I am convinced it's a GT.I am going to go by there and ask them about it today and talk some smack if it's a fake Hell it might even be a V6,but it did have a Flowmaster CB on it.Someone did alot of work to it and it did look good, and I bet they could pass it off as a Cobra to someone that is dumb as hell.

Sorry for the rant but it pissed me off.

When you go back there act dumb and see if the dealer tries to pass it off as a cobra. Let us know what happens.

ok tell me if im wrong here or not

the 99 and 01 cobras are not worth the insurance money getting a gt is allot cheaper and u dont lose allot of time on the acceration department and the 1\4 miles i herd that the cobra is only .1 seconds faster in the 1\4 miles then the gt both cars being manual and for that extra 60 hp the cobra is supposed to have what are those numbers all about it shoudl be allot quicker then that with all its extra power

You have to remember that the cobra have 60 more hp over the gt. Its not just about the power though, its something about a 7k rpm redline v8 and the class of a cobra that you get. Put in a set of 4.10s and wave bye bye to any gt (assuming theres no power adder). I know that a gt might get it off the line, but watch out for that cobra on the top end.

As soon as you open the hood the Blue Snake is unmistakeable plus the cobra heads are huge and take up all the real estate under the hood.

We had an 02 gt come into work on a trade-in. it was blue with cobra emblems, and front and back bumpers. Everyone was awing over it but I could tell from the bullitt wheels and the gt hood it wasnt a cobra. Also everyone knows there were only 100 cobras made in 2002, and they are all right hand drive. Needless to say I had to have them put a stop on the part orders for it because it was just a GT.

Slappys right, 01-02 cobras say cobra on the back (so do 03-04s but youd know if it was one of those) on 99-00 cobras it looks like this:

the only wat to really tell is probably if you look under the good

You are correct. No 00' accept the R.
Spring mentioned 01 and 02 cobras. I remember reading somewhere that there wasn't an 02 Cobra accept a few leftover 01's that were sent to Canada as 02.

Well went back to the Dealer today and I was right it's a 02 GT Fobra. The salesman was very honest and told me that right off (damn) He said that a young guy traded it in on a (this is funny) 04 Civic with a body kit on it I told him that I knew from looking at it the night before it was'nt a Cobra and he was surprised because he had alot of people come in and ask about the "Cobra" and all were surprised when he told them it was a GT.
