before I go ahead and install my springs, I want to get some shocks and struts (mabey even cc plates)

what are the best shocks and struts out there that dont cost alot of money? the blisteins look attractive but...600 dollars..

also what do CC plates do?? how nessecsary are they?

 

I would say it depends on the purpose of the car. For your average street driven car with an occasional trip to the drag strip or roadcourse would benefit best from a set of Tokico Illumina adj. Even for mild drag applications these would suffice. You can procure them on Ebay for around $400.

Make sure however that if your car is an SN-95 lowered more than 1.75" (only a handful of springs do this) they require Fox-body model number struts. Most mustang places (Stangsuspension, MM, etc.) will know this and inform you of it. But the ebay dealers will probably not have that information.

CC plates allow for increased range of adjustment when getting the vehicle aligned. It is a necessity on most lowered cars > ~1.2" But can vary.

I'm going to put Ford Racing C-Springs (aka Bullit springs) do you reccomend CC plates?

If so, which ones are good?

 

One way or another the vehicle will require an alignment. You can take it to a shop following the spring install, and see if they can get it into spec.

If not purchase the plates and give it another run. Not sure if you know anyone that works at an alignment shop but maybe they'll test it for free?

You should'nt need CC plates with that small a drop.I did'nt and mines lower with the H&R's.

 

I looked and for the tokicos it was 400....just for the shocks, i want shocks and struts...those blisteinbs are looking appealing, but im still not sure? anyone else have an opionion?

Tokico illumina's are nowhere near 600 for a set. Stangsuspension.com should be around 475. Ebay is closer to 400.

Strange 10 way adj. struts and shocks is also an option.

 

Id pick my own spring/strut package. And, if you are going with the illuminas, you may as well go bilsteins. Go with maximums starter box package. Its like 1000 bucks, but its springs, shocks, isolators, c/c plates EVERYTHING youd need.

 

QA1s are nice but Im going to go with bilsteins when I replace the factory ones. If your going to Auto X or do any road courses, CC plates would help. By dialing in a little more negative camber, youll have much greater turn in ability.

 

Bilsteins are the best you can get but if you dont want to fork over 600 for em, get something thats adjustable. tokico or KYB arent a bad choice, and they both are adjustable.

Who told you that the C Springs are the same as the Bullitts? The specs are completely different.

BTW, $ for $, nothing beats buying the entire Bullitt suspension package. $450 list for EVERYTHING and I got mine for $300.

 

C Springs:

Front: 650
Rear: 200/300


Bullitt Springs:

Front: 600
Rear: 250
