I am looking at buying some SFC for my stang to stop the rattle and squeaks. Are they worth the price? Do I need full length for daily driving and maybe an occasional run at the track?

 

They are definitely worth it. Get the full length ones and have them welded on.

 

Yes worth it. Big time. lol Everyone keeps telling me this and I still don't have them on my car yet. I've had a hundred people tell me the many advantages of putting them on though.

 

For a vert, they are a must. For a hardtop, they are a must if you are or plan on serious added power. You need full lengths for a roll cage I believe too. For a near stock hardtop, they will make the car feel new longer by keeping it tighter.

 

Not trying to take over this thread, but what are subframe connectors for?

 

The mustang does not have a frame. It is uni-body construction...like most cars. SFC attache the front of the car to the back of the car rigidly and add stiffness to the car. stock GT's have cheap crappy SFC on them from the factory. I took them off and have Steeda ones I bought at MT.

 

Hey chris, do yall carry the Steeda Zinc coated ones? Im going to order some in the near future, and want to get them from you guys if you have the Steedas, Im stuck between those and the Maximum Motorsports ones.

 

Yeah we can get any Steeda product, if we don't already have them. Just call Bob he can do special orders if you need them.

 

Rattles and squeaks???I had rattles and squeaks.Take the car back to the dealer and have them use the Chassis Ears They found the rear control arm bushings were dried out and worn.This with less than 5000 mi.Guess Ford was using up all the old parts before the 05's came out.

Mainly better handling. A good idea for the strip though because the twist on launch can tear the subframes apart. The connectors stop a good amount of that twist.

Another Q...will new subframe connectors provide a good jacking point on the side of the car, or should I still use the jack locations, and also, when installed, you have to remove the interior correct?

 

You should be able to jack on them. The interior only needs to be pulled for full length subframes which is why so many use the shorter ones. Full length are only needed for roll cages and the like.

 

Subframes are definately a must! Make the car feel stiff and make it handle the way mustang should!

In a nut shell: They eliminate body twist in hard launches and other benifits come as well, but not sure what else... Somebody correct me if I'm incorrect...HTH

 

got my sfc's installed and the car feels like it handles a little better, but no SOTP HP...............just kidding thanks for all the help.

 

Ya, I'm definitely going to get some MM full length SFC. When you get them welded in make sure the car has its weight on the wheels because if the car is hanging the unibody might be in a weird position and once the welds are done you'd be in trouble!

 

How much does it cost to have them installed?

I have Maximum Motorsports Full length SFCs and they are awesome. Definately get some. Well worth the money

 

I had mine installed when I had engine work done to the V6. I am not sure on the price by itself but I couldn't imagine it would be much

 

They should only take about an hour to weld in so see what kind of rate you can get. Make 100% sure when you get them welded in that they use a drive lift, not the kind that lift your car from the four points. It can seriously mess stuff up!

 

Made my own, weld-on, well worth it. Really stiffens the body up, no more chasis flex. Just dont get bolt on subs really a waste of money.
