Default Soft Top Troubles

I am having problems with my soft top "poofing up" at highway speeds..I personally haven't seen it but I hear it looks bad. Any ideas on stopping this?

It's funny you mention this cause I saw a vert stang the other day on the freeway with the top poofing up. At first I just thought his windows must be down and the air going into the car was causing it, but then I was thinking that maybe he had a small hole in his top that was allowing air to get between the layers of the vert top....I'm not sure what is was, but those could be two possible reasons. I wonder if mine "poofs" also...hmmmm.

What kind of top do you have, the standard top or the deluxe top? Your top will flex slightly in either case but you shouldn't notice it too much. A standard top will show the top rails clearly while you're in the car looking up. A deluxe top is covered to look like a standard headliner. Either case it's a 2004 right? I'd say WARRANTY!

Depending on the type of top... you may or may not notice what's causing the problem - but the dealer should.

Some covers have attachments along the rails that hold it tight; some of these may have broken and will need to be replaced - the other common method; is that the rails are sewn into pockets - which resemble curtain rods in a window treatment, etc. Since I have not replaced my cover on the 2004 - and you should not have too this very early! I'm not sure which method they used... assuming the latter, this will get worst and worst over time and should be corrected as soon as possible. Get it to a dealer for inspection.

Thanks for the info. I am about to put it in the shop for the 30K service. I will be sure to have them look at it.
