I figured that ya would say that Zig. I just needed some reassurance haha. I am a broke *** college student, but I am getting a decent job this summer, and I'm hoping to work on the Mustang and get most of what I want/need done.

I still have the stock shifter but I did my research and a lot of Mustang owners like the MGW piece. Personally that is one of the next few things on my list behind some appearance mods.

MGW. I'm glad I got it, but I haven't used any other aftermarket shifter. I don't see how a shifter could be any better though. The stock shifter compared to the MGW piece is like using a rubber row boat oar to shift the car with. The MGW is click-click-click-click, that fast. Combine that with a aftermarket clutch quadrant and even the MM clutch pedal adjuster like I have and it takes zero effort to shift.

MGW. I'll never get anything by any other brand as long as they're still making them. And they just reduced their prices again, which is even better for you.

Seems like MGW is the way to go

Hopefully I'll be able to get it within the next two months, depending on how work goes.

FR500, clutch pedal adjuster?

I don't see how the clutch quadrant/firewall adjuster is worth it. I had it installed when I had my King Cobra clutch put in and I didn't see a difference so I ended up taking it out and using the self-adjusting stock piece.

I think you're the first person I have EVER heard say that... The Billet double hook is leaps and bounds better than the POS plastic "self adjusting" quadrent.

The clutch quadrant. The stocker is a POS plastic contraption that is supposed to "self-adjust" by pushing the pedal all the way to the floor then pulling it all the way up and pushing the pedal back down again.. I've had 2 mustangs with it and it never worked properly. Always had slop at the top of the pedal and didn't engage the clutch until it hit the floor.

Aftermarket companies like Maximum Motorsports, Steeda and UPR manufactured billet replacement quadrents + firewall adjusters that get rid of the plastic crap and you can adjust the clutch cable to engage the clutch with less pedal pressure.

Like this. http://www.americanmuscle.com/steeda...-kit-8395.html

Maximum Motorsports makes a little piece that moves your clutch pedal so it is inline with the brake pedal, and the gas pedal if you take the slack up in the throttle cable. It makes it easier to rev-match downshift and heel-toe shift and all that mess. It's probably not for everyone though. It makes the clutch pedal travel really short. It was the only complaint I got from my driving instructors is that the clutch engagement was really quick and hard to modulate.

I've been told multiple times on here and multiple other places that stick with the stock one.
I have the Ford Racing King Cobra Clutch too.

Anyways I use the Pro 5.0 Short Through Shifter and I LOVE it.

Well my clutch engages near the top which I have been told is where it should be engaging, not near the bottom.

But the only complaint I do have is that my pedal is hella harsh. Takes quite a bit more pressure to get the pedal to the floor than it did before but even when I had the quadrant and adjuster in it was like this and the guy I had put my clutch in said I didn't need that.

I'd love to know where you are seeing this because I'm a member of at least 7-8 Mustang forums and I have never once seen anyone recommend the stock quadrant over a double hook. As far as I'm concerned there is just no comparison. It is literally the first thing I did after I bought the car from Dave, actually I'm pretty sure that I ordered that the same day or the day after I bought the car.

I'm wondering if you're confusing the quadrant with the cable? Because everyone recommends staying with stock Ford cables.

I still don't see why a double-hook quadrant is better than the stock piece. I'm open to knowledge; enlighten me.

The clutch peddle is WAY easier then my other clutch peddle feel. :/

I had a King Cobra clutch kit put in. I also installed a double-hook quadrant and firewall adjuster. My throwout bearing started acting up. I thought I had the adjustment wrong. I took out the said double-hook quadrant and firewall adjuster and reinstalled the stock self-adjusting quadrant. There is my reasoning.

I don't see why you need something that adjusts. The stock quadrant adjusts.

I'm fine with I got.
Still a little annoyed why evreyone was telling me that the Ford Racing King Cobra Clutch would be a harder peddle feel, but yet mine is WAY easier. Unless I didn't have a stock clutch. haha

I don't see why certain people have to insult my intelligence and talk down to me like I'm ignorant to dumb.

My clutch pedal is quite a bit stiffer than it was before. Could someone please enlighten me as to why this is so.

Maybe someone can clear this up. What does the firewall adjuster actually adjust? The slack in the cable? A few shop mechanics - the weary type - told me that the adjusters are bad because it puts too much pressure on the clutch disk and causes premature wear.

However, I had it adjusted so that my clutch started engaging about 1/3 of the way up and was fully engaged by 2/3 of the way up. Now with the stock piece it's damn near the top and I can't slip the clutch out like I used to be able to.
