Yeah, so the floodwater was up and my friend had to cross it to get home. He has a CAI that goes into the fender wells as most common. And he went to cross the water kinda fast and boo. motor locked up. It was soo sadd too.

well hes changing out for a police interceptor engine.. his car and the cop car are both 99 models. BUT i think the mustangs have more horsepower,, id like to know the numbers. I know a 99 has 260hp and 300 tq.. But i dont know if the police interceptor engine would be better. but yeah, it sucks, we dunno if the engines worth fixing or not.

Your friend is an idiot.

All it takes is 12" of moving water to float a vehicle.

I've rescued more than few 'drivers" who ended up playing U-boat commander

Hydrolock is a very expensive lesson.

Just go with another 4.6 out of a mustang or go 5.4. They are found easily and are pretty cheap if just doing the basic swap. No point of doing a interceptor swap.

I belive the police iterceptor engine's produce less power than the 4.6 2V engines that the 99-04 GT's come with.
