Default n00b question transmission

wats up fellas. since i got the paint job on the car, the sticker inside the door was taken off telling me the info i need for my car. im trying to figure out what transmission i have. i know i have the 96- mid 01 water pump pully. is that enough material to make sure that i do have a 96-01 mid gt??? reason being im looking for a new clutch, a simple spec stage 1 should do.

Take your VIN# to the DMV or to a Ford Dealership and they can print you your door panel specs.

I believe it's the T3650

EDIT: Actually, it should be either the T5 or T-45...had my years mixed up there

I believe King is right, but still, if you want to be 100% sure, either wikipedia it, or call a dealership/DMV and give them your VIN#

T5 was only in the GTs until 95. 96-01 was T45 and 01+ was TR3650. I think the way to tell visually is to look at the drain plug. T45 faces sideways and TR3650 faces down (towards the ground).

Also the super easy way to tell is that the T45 has a removable bell housing (part that bolts onto the tranny sounds the clutch and bolts to the engine block) while the 3650 has the bell housing cast into the tranny so its all one solid unit. The 3650 also has a different overdrive ratio so you can see what your rpms are at in 5th gear at some speed and look on one of the online calculators to see what tranny you have based on that speed and rpm.
