well its 2:33am just got done with a good street race on my way home from a awsome night.

I happen to have a red light were a black slightly modded C5 was at. It had a catback for sure thats all i know and it was manual with a cocky young guy driving it. Let goes red i didnt think he would go and he gives it some juice i take off slow and we go ot the next light whihc had all ready turned red. So i wait traction control off in first just incase he wants to go as he never looked over to me so i didnt know.

Light turns green i wait he rolls into the gas and drops the hammer i fallow suit with him 2 cars ahead and going fast. Powershift 2nd and start gaining fast, at 4,000rpms i am at his bumper at 5,700rpms i power shift 3rd passing his door and he lets out of it. and i slow for an oncomming light that is turning yellow.

Then went threw the light and took off so i could not run again and get the holeshot on him. I was pissed cause i know with my drag radials and my many passes i can out 60' his car any day on street tires.

I guess we chualk up another for my car, off the bottle by the way

of course i could be wrong it might of all been a dream.

 

He was sceert. Most people who don't have a stang are really surprised when they find out even a stock GT will haul ***. I jumped on a C5 vette with my pure bone stock GT last year and stayed real close to even with him from dead stop to 3rd gear ( he pulled away about half a car after that, then we both let off. Not bad if you ask me. I got to talk to him after we let off and were giving the thumbs up. He was impressed. And I felt good about staying that close. It's all in the shifting sometimes.. I should get a Cobra..

 

no he was a good driver he shifted pretty quick, i purley out performed him.

 

no doubt bro. Thats why he didn't take the next stop light with you. He knew your stang would be to tuff to handle . in other words he didnt want none of you. lol.

 

im not sure on how true this is, but back when my car was bone stock and i would run z28s and trans ams i would always keep yp with them from 0-60 or street light racing. so i got to talkin to my friend that has a moded out z28, and i was like whats the deal. you know cuz stock vs stock i would have thought the z28 would win, their pushin like 310 hp. but he told me that my gt is going to hang with just about every car off the line, just cuz the way they are geared. so i thought that was pretty cool. do you guys know anything about that. or was he just blowin smoke

 

Bone stock 04 GT pushes over 300 ftlbs of torque. Plus they're a little lighter overall. I luv a dead stop race with anyone at a stop light. Took a 04 GTO for a 3 gear ride last year. LOL, He was struggling to keep up with me.

every car I've ever raced I have beat off the line.. but when it comes to LS1's and their 3rd gear is when they haul ***

 

alot of those camaro's and T/A's arent to great out of the hole at all on stock gears. both of my freinds sprayed 94 Z28's even me off the bottle them on i can take both to around 25mph before they pass me because there weight and gearing suck.

The funny thing is my freind with a t/a said i was full of it last night, even though i walk all over his car too.

I once tried running a t/a that had just finished tearing up a buza...Not the best of ideas...

Yeah LS1's are at their best in 3rd gear....I've found that out also when I had my GT. Vette's are damn quick if the driver can drive worth a damn.

Hey Spike, Do you get alot of ricers wanting to try you out??. They seem to want punishing around here. fart cans don't add all that much HP from what I hear LOL.. I luv it when they try me at a light. (not advocating street racing ) but just romping through a few gears is acceptable IMHO..

 

Yeah i do get tried alot. My car has dumps with the stock GT bumper and i was told by a few poeple they thought all i had done was removed the catback. plus here in orlando we have alot of college kids and highschool kids who try and mod there moms hondas or they other econo cars.
