over drive on an overdrive off
i was wondering on my 2001 mustang gt, i have overdrive an i was wonderin is it better to keep overdrive on or overdrive off>? and also what is better for racing over drive on or over drive off >thanks --`-BLACKSTALLION--`-`

for the track, keep the over-drive in the off mode. for street use under 35 mph, keep it off as the od comes on at @38mph so on the highway or anytime your over 40 mph, you'll want it "on"

SO when i go to the track tonight for my first time... in my 00 gt AUTO...make sure that my lil light is on sayn "O/D OFF" ?
and on highway off a roll at about 40...should the O/D OFF light be on or no? |
This belongs in the drag racing section

Do not let it hit o/d when at WOT.

whoops.......
|
so if my cars O/D turns ON , make sure to turn it back OFF or leave alone?

After you turn it off, it won't turn back on again unless you turn the car off and back on. The easiest way is to just make sure the green O/D OFF light is lit before every run.
