What do you think I should be running?
What do you think I should be running in the 1/8th? Here's the mod list..
Steeda Cold Air Intake Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter Steeda Underdrive Pulleys Steeda Cat-back SLP Short Off-Road X-pipe SLP Creamic Long Tube Headers Accufab 75mm TB and Plenum SCT Xcalibrator 2 tuned by DynoSpeed Racing FRPP 4.10 Gears Nitto NT-555R Drag Radials 275/45/17 on the back the run conditions will be about 77 degrees and 56% humidity The reason I'm asking is that I'm going tonight and I don't have much to compare myself to here. Thanks! |
Just for reference my friend ran 9.13 @ 77 mph in a Automatic stock 01 GT convertible on street tires with similar weather conditions. This is quite fast for a stock Mustang, as I've never seen another stock GT run anything close to that...probably just a fluke.
After adding header's, exhaust, pullies, intake he ran 9.55 @ 75. Go Figure. No telling what you'll run, but it should pull strong it just depends on how you drive/launch. In the Cobra slipping out the clutch at just at 2700rpms and easing into it I ran 8.91 @82 mph. This was on a warm afternoon, probably 80ish with moderate humidity. All this was on street tires, with Gears, intake, Pullies, Clutch/flywheel, exhaust, and shifter. These mod Motor cars need to be launched at 6,000+ RPM's to really get a good time. If you did that it'd run low 8's at low 80mphs... Let us know how it goes! Get Video and have a kick ass time! Philip K. |
lol I'm scared to death to launch it past 4k.. I wanna keep my rearend! lol

i'm gonna say 8.65 easy where you running at

you wont hook hard enough to break the axles. it will just spin i know i have nittos.

cool, I may launch a little harder tonight! I normally have a problem hitting 3rd gear for some reason, so I've been practicing and I don't think I'll have that problem as much tonight. I ordered a Raptor shiftlight but it didn't make it here in time :(
|
you should be in the mid to high 8's. I ran a 8.72 @ 81.72, and have everything you have but the headers, and it was 90 with 87% humidity.

If your holding it on the side. I mean with your hand on the side of the nob thats a problem. You should have your hand on the top of the shifter. this way when you pull back to 2nd you use your fingures to pull back the shifter. when you go to hit 3rd you use your palm to push it forward. If you do it this way. I will bet you 50bucks you will hardly (if ever) miss or have a hard time getting into third gear. Also dont try to push it over just push up and maybe a bit over the steeda spring is strong enough that you dont need too it will push you over, just let it rip. Trust me on this. :D |
well I didn't have a problem hitting gears tonight.. but I couldn't get any traction coming out of the hole. The best I could pull was a 9.11 @ 78 with a 2.2 60ft. :( This track is pretty well known for being ****ty with traction issues, so I don't think I'm ever going back there. At a different track I was pulling a 9.2 and that was before the U/D pulleys and 4.10 gears lol. Oh well.. I'm going to a 1/4 mile track next saturday, so what 1/4 mile times do you think I could get :)

its hard to tell. since you are driving a manual. not to be mean but i think you will hit a 13.5. hey i could be wrong so get some numbers and post em. im jealous that you guys have the oppurtunity to go to the track in your mustangs. i drive these crappy 2001 ford f 350's outfitted to only tow things that weigh 5-8k pounds.
