He has a single port car too not split port. When Teal had just a vortec and some flowmasters on the stock 94 single port motor it barley ran a 14.7@95 because of the shitty heads/intake.

He has a 2000 v6... so why wouldn't he have a split port?

I thought SPs weren't around until early 2001 models....??

1999-2004 had the new split port heads and intakes. Changed with the body style. 1994-1998 had the single ports.

spike_africa 02-25-2009 07:40 PM

I fail. I thought he had a 96 for some reason. LOL.

shitty heads on intake..... diff yes

"walls blocking" on the heads/lower manifold. i have seen this but got rid of the walls on the heads :D

the heads/intake are very restrictive on the 94-98 V6 Mustang but once you port them.....OH hell ya :smokin:

Intake, exhaust, 93 octane tune, I took my spare tire and rear seat out for the track, and I got an awesome launch.

Without launching it, the best I run is a 15.2-15.3

jon2325 03-18-2009 08:11 PM

well i've got intake, exhaust, pullies, sct pre-programmed 93oct tune with an automatic and old street tires... but my car still spins off the line and going into 2nd pretty bad so i cant put down any solid numbers yet, but good times man.. dont see too many n/a v6s in the 14s

Switch 03-18-2009 08:15 PM

thanks, bro

Yeah, if you practice launching and don't spin you'll see some much better times. The launch pretty much determines the outcome of the rest of the quarter mile. If you get off the line faster, you end up accelerating a lot faster down the track. A 60 foot time .1 or .2 seconds faster can equate to up to a .3 or .4 seconds faster quarter mile.

jon2325 03-18-2009 08:19 PM

yea, i'm getting better at it.. first time i just floored it and ran a 16.6 and now i give it gas in 'moderate' proportions til its off the line

Haha yeah, that's what I did the first time I went to the track. I think I ran a 15.5 or something along those lines and the later in the day the worse my times got. I gave up when I finally ran a 15.9

jon2325 03-18-2009 08:25 PM

lol.. so do u have an auto or manual transmission?

Switch 03-18-2009 08:26 PM

auto

jon2325 03-18-2009 08:39 PM

oh ok.. when u got it tuned did it mess with your shift pressure? because on mine even when i put the shift pressure to -25% it still spins going into 2nd gear..

Yeah, I have the shift pressure bumped up. (I don't know how much, cause I didn't touch the tune. I told justin to give me a real aggressive tune and he did. I haven't touched it, just loaded it on the car) I still don't spin changing gears though. The tires chirp real quick, but it's never really spinning them. Maybe you went on a day the track wasn't prepped well? Did you drive through the water-box?

If you lived in florida, I'd show you some tips for getting off the line faster. I'm done racing until I get a new car, though.
