How'd I do?
I went to run the 1/4 mile track for the first time this weekend. It was 103 dergrees out there and humidity was very high. I couldnt launch the car for crap.
Tell me how I did. I dont think they are that great. Any pointers or advice would be great! R/T .679 60' 2.266 330 6.210 1/8 9.441 MPH 75.85 1000 12.222 1/4 14.549 MPH 96.89 |
60 foot times are a good reason why your 1/4 time is slow. if you knock that 60 foot time down to 2 flat, you may be able to get a low 14 to 14 flat possibly. heat is a big reason on why you are slow as well. people usually run their best times in the fall.

2.0 60ft and you'll be seeing 14-14.2 run. Yeah, heat will kill your top end with these cars. being that hot, you can't hot lap it either, you would have to let it cool down, or try to cool down. Right before summer or after summer when it's cooler is a great time for the track.
Good run. seeing your MPH def. tells me it was to hot, should at least hit 100 MPH+ |
the heat isnt helping and were do you live? whats the elevation that really changes the times aswel.

A 14.5????? good lord bro, I was running that pure stock..........You better learn how to drive before you go to the track...Your making the mustang look bad........ :poke:
|
Bull**** about the 2.2 60ft times... I have run a 2.2 60ft time and my best was a 13.9.......It all depends on if your car is making HP/TQ, if it isn't your not gonna fair well.....
|
Sorry dude but 2.2 60ft times are slow. Every mustang driver should be capable of pulling 2.0 60 foot times on oem or street tires because its not that hard.
|
No dude its not hard to run a 2.0-2.1 on street tires...........That is why I told him to learn how to drive..........:shock2: But if all you can get is a 2.3-2.4 your car can run the track and make up the time it lost...I have done it on many passes....

I definately dont suck at driving and I will prove that as soon as I get a video up. I know my reason for the slow as times is the traction loss that occurs everytime I start off.
I can get a video up as soon as I can figure out how to get it onto my computer. My camcorder converts into a dvd and I cant download it to my comp. I definately dont shift at redline. I shift around 5400. Thanks for the advice given thnough!:breakdancesmilie: |
the 18's done help you either. my car picked up a few MPH and couple tenths when i went to the track with 17's. this was pre supercharger days.

What is the average ET for a 99-04 5 speed GT? Sorry to be the stupid newB, but I've never really spent much time around the mustangs. I'm more of a chevy man. Flame suit on...
