01 GT automatic

Well my Dad and I went to the track me in the cougar and
him in his 01 GT.
Him: 14.4@ 96mph
Me: 14.8 @ 101mph
we were hoping to get some better times out of his car but only
got three runs in. We're gonna go back again after I put his X-pipe
on to see if it makes a difference. I went knowing I couldn't launch
with my 6 yr old blown struts. But it was still fun. I reeled the GT
in pretty easily after about 60'. From a roll the Cougar walks the
Stang about a car then it stays even until triple digits. At consistant 99
and 100+ I know the coug has a 13 second run in her I just need to get
my struts on.

All in all I'm pretty impressed with the Automatic GT can't wait to get
more mods on it. Is it worth it getting a new intake manifold, throttle
body and MAF or should we just go S/C?

On a stock car, intake, TB, plenum all together might get ya 15hp at the wheels, maybe. I dropped a tenth at the track after adding the SLP catted X on my 01 auto.

you hit a 13.79 with a basic intake and exhaust?
in an Automatic GT? We'll try running with his X-pipe
on and not a full tank of gas this time. He would be
happy if we could get it into the 13's He was mad because
I trapped over 100 and he didn't but I don't see him gaining
more than 6mph.

Thanks for the info

Had 1/4 tank of fuel, no jack/spare, was about 55 or so degrees out. Ran it on original tires.
