A Couple of Questions on Mods

Okay... I am actually doing this for a couple of friends... I don't have a mustang of my own... yet :-). Anyways, here are the questions:

1) My Friend has an 01 Mustang GT, and he put on the MagnaPack exhaust system. He would like to get an off-road x-pipe, but doesn't know if it will be RIDICULOUSLY loud or not. From what I gauged on it, the MagnaPack makes it sound like a tuned version of running just the stock h-pipe without any catbacks. What is your input?

2) I have another friend (I am a friendly guy, what can I say :-)) That is looking to get a cold air intake. He is between an FIPK kit, and a Mac Straight Shot, which do you think would be the best?? He has a 2002 Mustang GT, stock as can be (he even got the silencer on the intake!)

Well you seem like a very knowledgeable group, so lemme know what you think!

1. Yes it will be loud but sound very nice.
2. I'd say the K&N FIPK kit would be your best bet between the two.

Ditto from me too!

Exoect the pitch of the exhaust to increase and be quite loud. Not the loudes combo available, but loud.

BTW, we will need either mil eliminators or a tuner/chip to turn off the SES because he will need to remove the second set of o2 sensors. They are not used w/o cats.

Ya, that actually brings another question to my attention.... would you say to use the MIL Eliminators that you splice yourself into the line, or the easy plug and play ones??

Lances03SVT 07-12-2005 07:24 PM

The plug and play ones.

And just to make sure on the exhaust.... is it so loud that, under regular driving, that he would attract attention from the police? Cause that would definitely be no good....

It would be fine under normal driving. Under hard driving, its noticable as any car with modified exhaust is. He shouldnt have any problem unless the cop is a diehard bowtie boy.

Exactly. LOL, just hope if you get caught next to him in traffic, his eyes dont start burning from the fumes...
