man i would have loved to have had an Xpipe, or no mufflers, but both are illegal in my state. damn Illinois.........

anywayz, my first mod was a Y pipe into 2 mufflers with dual exhuast stainless steel tips ( to be more specific, i have a flowmaster Force II #17275). it totally changed the look and feel of my 99 v6, now alot of people are very confussed, they keep wondering what it is. ( GT or other)

I would say to first make it look good. it's cheaper. Bumper inserts, Chin spoiler, etc. gotta keep her looking good and at your age just enjoy driving your car without getting too extreme modifying the performance. Experience first, then throttle up. IMHO:icon_thum

I agree. Make it into a nice cruiser. You definitley don't want to race it. If you break something racing, it's not very cheap to fix. At your age right now, having more power on tap will be more of a curse than a blessing. Believe me, you'll want to gun it all the time and end up with speeding tickets.

IMO, I would make it look good. Don't rice it out or anything, but get yourself some OEM style 17" rims, (bullits, cobras, GT 17s) and lower it about an inch and a half. If you get larger rims, you can put some bullit or cobra brakes on it that not only stop better, but look better too. As far as engine performance...my first step with a V6 would be get a chip. It'll net you a little more power and give you even better gas mileage. When you get a little older, get a GT or Cobra, and keep the V6 as a nice cruiser.

My first car was a 1979 Chrysler LeBaron....not exactly a sporty car, lol. Just take care of it, keep it clean, make it look good, and make it comfortable. Later down the road you can worry about power.

Thats what I would do. I cost alot more to make these cars go fast than it does to make one look better. Having a V6 just makes it an even bigger difference.

The first thing I would change would be dropping it, and adding wheels. If you like the kind I have on mine, you can find pretty good deals on them used in good shape. I paid $50 a piece for my two extras. I'm lowered about 1.5" in these pics (BBK progressive rate springs) and I have bullitt brakes. I just put a whole new K-member/coil over setup on last week.

These are always difficult posts to respond to. On the one hand, I think we should just answer questions like this technically, but on the other hand, you have to consider who is asking.

I pretty much agree with all the previous posts. I would just add that you should try to learn as much as you can about the car. First, it's fun. Second, you will be able to make educated decisions down the road.

Mods are expensive PLUS you never get your money out that you put in, but learning is cheap.
