8" or 12" Antenna

Has anyone bought one of the shorty antenna's. Thinking of getting the 8" but I'm not sure about the reception. Have to be able to pick up the NASCAR station when not in front of the TV on Sundays. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the billet shorty antenna and the reception is identical to stock as far as I can tell, but I don't know about the 8".

thanks for the response Nofire, I think the shorty billet is what i'll go for.

I got the 8" free with my throttlebody and plenum. Your radio reception will go down. Go with the bigger one or cut your stocker down.

I have the 12" and it works just fine :icon_flow

The 8 " sux. Horrible reception. I put the stock antenna back on and threw the other crap away. Thank god it was FREE with the T/B plenum combo

I got a black 8 incher, (that sounds bad) works great. Diddnt notice any drop in reception, then again, i just put the damn thing on yesterday.
Visually it is a serious improvement over that RC car attenna.
I did notice that it does not have that spiral down the side like the stock attenna had. That spiral is used to keep the attenna from whistleing.

i havent hit the highway yet, but if that lil bastard starts whistelin dixie on me it is gettin thrown out.
LOL

Well, it probably depends on where you live. In or near the city, you'll probably get all the radio stations broadcasted from that city with any antenna. But if you live out in the country, a bigger antenna would be a bigger help to pick up the stations from farther away. If you live in/near a big city and are doing it for the looks, go for the 8" and when the reception isn't that great, pop a CD in or something.
