Brakes don't fit!

Here's the deal. I bought a set of power slot rotors and EBC brake pads for my Mach 1 (both from here). But when I put the brake pads on I can't get them on the rotors. I've tried compressing the pistons, and that didn't help. So then I gave up and took them to the Ford dealership---they had the same problem. So what gives? It looks like the brake pads are WAY too thick for the rotors (stock rotors are the same size, I checked). Any help?

The EBC pads have a large protective coating on the top of the pad. You might have to sand that down in order to get them on.

Its a common thing with EBC pads.

I'll definitely give that a shot. Thanks.

I had the same problem with new pads and I'm sure you thouroughly look at your pads, but on the back of the pads there are small rivit like projections. Those small rivet projectioins are in different locations for each pair of pads. I felt like a total goof, trying to put my pads in because they wouldnt fit over my new rotors, but the pads will only fit on a specific side within each caliper. So looking closely I saw one of the rivits was interfearing so i switched it to the other side of the caliper. That was my problem, the caliper sliped over the rotor easy. I know you probably thought of it, and its probably not your problem. Hopefully this will help somebody else out, no matter how long you have been working on cars something simple can can have you scratching your head at times.
