Stainless Inserts
 

Hey I was wondering if anyelse got the stainless bumper inserts for a 99-04 GT. I just got mine but they didn't come with any type of instructions

Wash the dirt and grime from the area and then apply. Shouldnt need instructions for applying stickers.

Dude not to be rude but that reply sounded kind of harsh. Ive noticed the general mood and reply tone around here getting a little to critical. Forums can be very helpful but critical replies can keep new members from wanting to join. sorry had to give my two cents worth.



Now for a little decal help. Yes wash the area, but if you put a drop of soap in water sprayer you can mist area where decals are going to be placed, making them a hell of a lot easier to get right. Then rub out any bubbles with fingers or credit card.

This is the problem when it comes to typing rather than speaking.
you dont hear the tone of the person's voice. This creates problems, one mistakens what some one says or if there is a mistype, one can become offended. Everyone needs to learn to just shrug it off.

Now that might sound mean, offensive, or rude, but i am merely telling what happens with emails and AIM. This is a subject that has been researched and studied and all studies are conclusive that rational from typing is misread and interpreted.

Very true which further backs up my reply, think about how brand new users and new mustang owners feel. Like you said it is hard to get a feeling about what tone a person is using. Anyways i love the forum not trying to start a flame war. Just made a point.

Thanks for the help...I put them on yesterday but the main concern was which side of adhesive foam stuff i needed to use...I've done plenty of vinyl work when I had my RX-7. I got the stainless steel inserts...thanks again though

stainless teel inserts. i plan on replacing my vinyl inserts (brushed alum look) with some of them (either polished stainless, or brushed... dont know which =D ) and i wonder, i plan on getting mine from UPRproducts.com... and i wondered what they back theres with, what type of adhesive do they use and will it last? one would assume with a reputation such as UPR's that they would last a loong time... =D

I'm pretty happy with the results. The backing is a double-sided foam about as thick as two credit cards. When I pulled back the paper they didn't seem to sticky but once they are attached to something solid they stick extremely well. The foam is just thick enough to fill the gaps where the bumper bends because the inserts are perfectly flat. It took maybe 30 minutes to finish it...I had the black vinyl that I had to remove first. I just used a blow dryer to heat it up then it was pretty easy to peel off. After everything is done it looks just like the picture on this site. :icon_thum
