Want to swap 5.0 into my 87 Coupe 4cyl

Hello all, i'm sure this questions been covered before, but i figured i would ask and add my thoughts on the matter as well.

I recently acquired a 87 Coupe 4cyl auto that runs and drives just fine, has no rust, great interior.

I want to swap in a 5.0 v8 into it over the winter and would like to know the best way to go about this. I dont believe that getting a wrecked 5.0 is going to be viable since they are impossible to come by in whole. I would like the car to be a good all-around car, decent looks (but not a show car), good handling (but not a road race car) and decent accelleration (but not a drag car)...

I am thinking of sticking with auto, since i would like the option of driving this daily. My job is 15 miles away through 2 cities which has 15 stop lights between here and there. There is also a 8 mile stretch of 70mph interstate. Perhaps picking up a AOD will be a viable option, since i plan on keeping the motor relatively stock-like.

I also though about a carberated motor since it will ease installation. Any thoughts?

I would like to pick up a 8.8 .308 for my car.

As for motor mounts, i was thinking of Energy Suspension motormounts since i have used these in imports before and were happy with them. I found an adjustable double hump crossmember from Blue oval industries that looks adequate.

Any help will be appreciated since I am unable to find a straight forward tutorial on this swap. Thanks in advance.

If you want the instal to be easyer carb would deffantly be better not to mention cheapper to up grade, and if you want to run forced air(turbo or supercharger) they have carb enclosers so thats not out of the question anymore.
If you stick with auto make sure the AOD is from a 92 or older as i belive the 93's had the AODE witch is computer controlled(but im not sure)
energy motormout are good got them in my car also along with there tranny mount and have no complaints.
id just buy the dubble hump crossmember from ford its not that exspensive and its garented to fit no need to adjust it. If you can find a rearend with 3.55's id grab that over anyother gear there good out of the hole but still keep the revs reasonable on the highway.
