Supercharger Problems
 

I've got a 92 5.0 mustang that I just installed a procharger P600b on. Its intercooled and set for 9 lbs of boost. The car also has a variety of aftermarket performance parts...Everything from mass air to camshaft. My problem is around third gear at full throttle, the check engine light comes on then the car stumbles for a few seconds ..after letting off the throttle and giving the engine a few seconds to rev down it returns to normal...Is this a common remedied problem with supercharged stangs? and if so who can tell me the cure? Thanks for any help and advice .

go get the codes read. i will take a guess that you are not getting the fuel pressure you need in the upper rpms. Got a stock fuel pump and regulator?

I have an aftermarket in tank pump and an inline pump also. Fuel pressure at full boost ranges between 80 and 100 lbs..Also my air fuel ratio is slightly towards the rich side, so I guess that leaves me with getting the codes checked. Thanks for the advice.

I had a 90 Paxton Charged GT running 8 psi non-intercooled and if my memory is correct my fuel pressure never topped 60psi under boost. This may be causing a rich condition throwing the code. What type of A/F gauge are you using? A wide band is the only one that will give you an accurate reading.My suggestion would be to put it on a good tuners dyno so you can see whats happening all the way thru the RPM range. Dont take any chances with that engine under boost, I've seen several go belly up with the smallest problems.

80 -100lbs fuel pressure is because of the build up of pressure at the injectors. You have a higher flow fuel pump, but the injectors cant keep up. I ran into this same problem, had 24lb injectors with my vortech sc running a t-rex pump and a bigger in-tank pump. All i did was change the injectors to 42lb, and the fuel pressure never goes over 50 lbs and i am currently running 14lbs boost. I am not saying this is your problem though, because my car ran fine with the high fuel pressure. I would suspect it to be computer related, maybe the wrong info being read from the mass-air flow or a different sensor at that 3rd gear wot situation.
