Buy a haynes manual, best thing you can do. I have a 5.0 and mine burns oil, but I am not sure how often. Oil change is pretty easy

If its spilling oil or leaking then you should see some oil spots on the ground. You need to then see where they are coming from. Burning oil isn't really normal. On an older car like that it might just be the rings on the pistons are worn and or the cylinder walls are torn up a bit and oil is getting past them and being burned.

definately buy a haynes. it might not help you with loosing oil but you should have one if you plan on working on your car yourself. i have always got one for every car i have owned. they are well worth the 25 dollars at autozone.

What do you mean "a haynes"?

Its a very common auto manual they make for specific cars and specific years of that car. Chilton and Haynes both make manuals for cars that basically tell you how to fix 90% of the things you run across. I have one for every one of my cars I have ever owned and I have old ones from my friends that I kepted incase I ever need them again. But ALL OF MY FRIENDS always come to me with car problems so I use them a lot. Its one of the many reasons I know so much about cars. Because I have taken a lot of them apart. A Haynes manual helped me do my first heads/cam swap in my friends 92 LX foxbody.

well there r spills on the ground but im not sure if its oil. it probably is though. If it is spilling what should i do? i have a chilton manuel bt it doesnt make sense. i understand some of the things but not everything in it. about how much would it cost to take it somewhere and have it checked to see if its leaking? once, i took it to get an oil change and they told me it had a leak but that they fixed it. but it still loses oil.
