by doing your own damn research. its called google.

and btw, it actually might be the same amount of money to buy a crate engine and drop it in. it'll be better in the long run, especially if your engine has a lot of miles on it.

i have tried to do most of the research and i dont quite understand what completely to look for... my engine only has 49 thousand miles on it

Did a quick search and came up with that. Should simplify things.

do you even know what a stroked engine is?? or how about valve lash??

Sheets8 05-22-2009 04:31 PM

yes i know what stroked is...a stroke it is the length of travel the pistons move... a stroker kit increases it... i havent ever heard of valve lash, but thats what this place is for... learning.

valve lash is the empty space between the valve stem and the rocker arm. the space gets smaller as the engine components heat up.

now, fyi, when you stroke your 3.8l you have to get a new crank shaft with longer throws. you can actually use the old connecting rods, but must change the piston heads.

So what size are you going to go with 331 or 347?

Sheets8 05-24-2009 12:35 PM

About how much would it cost to have a 351w block stroked to 393 I may be getting said block soon and I can't decide if I want to leave is 351 or go up... maybe even to 408 forget about head, intake, exhaust, blah blah...

I just need a ballpark figure for getting a 351w block machined
