Will the service engine light stay on, once I remove the smog pump?
Some guy at the hardware store today asked me why I was wanting vac. caps this big and I told him what I was doing. He then said, if I remove the smog pump and all the vac. lines, that my service engine light would stay on. Is this true or is he just a young kid, that's full of :bs2:

Well, I started mine up last week, after I did the removal and the engine light didn't come on, but it only ran for about 5 mins. Actually, I don't see why it would come on, because as far as I know, all the piping leads to the exhaust? I should have the car to complete driving status tomorrow afternoon and I'll post back if I remember too.

Got it fixed today and took it out for a 10-15 min drive and no service engine light whatsoever :worship2:
