need help! electrical problem
 

Ok my brother was driving my 94gt manual, and as he went to start it, just when it was about to turn over, his foot slipped off the clutch and it stalled. When he tried again to start it, he had no power, no lights no nothing. Turn the key and no sounds at all. All there is, is a clicking sound, like a watch ticking coming from the front of the engine area. If you pull up on the door handle the clicking stops, and you hear fast clicking coming from the trunk area on the drivers side. It does have an alarm but i do not have the remote for it. So I have never used it. Any ideas? Please help!

I was messing around with the ground wires by the battery, and got a spark and the ground screw. The clicking then stopped in the engine. My brother put the key in and we had lights, radio, heater, everything. As soon as he tried to start the car, i saw another spark, and everything went dead again. And the clicking started again. So I wonder, could the starter, or the starter relay, or some other part of the starter system might be shorting out?

sounds like a bad ground to me

There is a switch back there that turns off the fuel system when you get into an acident but I think its your battery that toast, give it a jump start with booster cable or just get a battery from another car,if you have a meter should be 12v or higher. When you start your car the starter requires alot of amps and if the battery cant supply it you will only hear the clicking of the starter solenoid trying to engauge the starter.

Also check fuses.

Ok first it definitely isnt the fuel shut off if you lost power to the complete car, that jus dont make since. If the car had started to turn over and his foot slipped off the clutch and stalled you could have over loaded the amperage of the started and melted some wires, BUT that shouldnt have happened due to the clutch switch unless it is bad or bypassed, when slipping off it should shut the power to the starter. without the clutch problem i had a similar problem, i could hear the solenoid but no radio no lights nothing, i put a volt meter on the fuse box and i got bout 10 volts, parking lights should have atleast been dim but werent, it was the batt. cables. see if your cable and discolored or brittle and do a voltage drop at the cable. good luck!!!
