call a cam company of your choice.
need much more details of your combo. tell us more about the combo and what you want to do. just need a ton more info. best off to call a few cam companies and get their advice stay away from alphabet cams... ive got one in my car cause its cheap, but they are 20 year old technology. |
Couldnt of said it better myself. You cant just go what cam do i need? its alot more complex then that. You need to macth the cam to your intake manifold and heads flow ability. You need ot get a cam that works well with your rear end gears and or convertor stall speed. There are a few things you need to think of before you choose. Also if your gonna stay n/a, sprayed,or forced induction.
So start reading online about cams or call the companies and be sure of your final goal with the car. A cam should be one of the later mods you do if you ask me. |
well im going to be using 351 heads and i have 3.73 gears going to put on some dome shaped pistons and roller rockers and im going to stay n/a for a long time i just want to put in a cam since im going to be taking the motor apart i dont want to go back later and tear everything apart again

call comp cams and talk to them best thing you can do. There tech lines are awsome and will help pick a cam that makes the most power and works best.
|
what intake? i would assume carb? where do you want your power band? are you going to run upgraded springs, behive springs, hardend push rods.
|
domed pistons will limit your cam options in a big way. I'd start thinking about fly-cut flat tops. Those will put the compression in a useable zone and allow you to run a nice fat cam.
