it's up to you if it's worth it, but you will have to either get a new hood or cut out your existing hood. The shaker looks really sweet, but it will not add any performance to your car. The shaker was my favorite part of my mach, but I don't think it did much.....maybe 1hp at 80mph or something.

it needs some work to look good again...
also, if you have a 2valve engine you will need a custom made bracket to fit it. you can get them fropmk www.karkraft.com the shaker i have on mine i bought from there, all 100% FRPP parts except the bracket extentions. Keep in mind that one would probably require a real mach1 hood. i dont think cutting the hood would quite do it. also, the CDC shaker setups wont work with a mach1 hood without some fabrication. If you want a shaker, best route is to buy the Karkraft kit, and a Mach1 hood. That is also the expencive route. The CDC shaker looks good, but i dont like the plastic piece that fits on the hood. Also, the shaker sits low. |

The scratches would be no big deal to fix. Alot of guys on the mach1registry have already repainted theirs. You can just get a can of black wrinkle paint or something like that from ACE. I'll see if I can find a link to the thread.

Shaker setup was $679. That includes a brand new FRPP shaker, air tube, , and the modified bracket to fit to a 2valve. Good instructions, it is about a 15 minute bolton, the part that takes forever is trimming the airbox bti by bit to get that perfect fit.
http://www.karkraft.com/new_page_3.htm if you call them you can probably buy the modified bracket on its own if you can bag another shaker. bagged a carbon fiber mach1 hood (IPP is manufacturer) off of ebay, that was $675 shipped if you look around long enough you might find a real mach1 hood fo the correct color in ebay or craigslist... |
