Speaking of bullet-in-mustang
my pops just told us this story yesterday. Back in high school he was attending some place in mt. vernon i think, somewhere in NY, so the school was all male (he went there for only a year or two) and they had a bad rep for the 'mixers' they used to have, not because of their students but what would happen at the mixers concerning other school's students. So for the first time in 10 years they allowed that class to have a mixer. At the mixer, things of course got out of hand, someone pulled a gun from a cop and shot it, hitting a mustang, leaving a hole in its fender.
*tear*
Needless to say thats the last mixer they had for many, many years =D

Wrongo!!! Think again. The usual wrong answer is 1968. But, there was never a Bullet Mustang in 1968....just a movie called Bullet with a Mustang.

But, there was definately a bullet Mustang. 2001 was the first Mustang Bullet GT. While some don't consider it a distinctive model, it actually was. Then in later years, you could buy some of the bullet parts and even get the car off the showroom witht he bullet rims. The Bullet was the precursor of the Mach 1 and why they built the Mach again in 2003.

The styling reminiscent of the 1968 Mustang GT in the famous chase scene from the movie 'Bullitt'. There are several unique signature looks to the Bullitt Mustang. There are 'Bullitt' badges in various places to include the rear deck. We also find aluminum sill plates in the doors sporting the Bullitt badge. Aluminum pedals are up front (which Art Hyde of Team Mustang describes as some of the best Toe-Heel action he has ever felt) along with retro-styled gauge faces and there is an aluminum filler door for the gas tank. The interior leather has the vertical stitching reminiscent of the 60's. The wheels are the 2001 Premium wheels which are now available currently on any 2001 Mustang. The brakes on the Bullitt are Cobra brakes. They have been painted red for styling sporting the running Pony.

The performance has been enhanced as well. Look for numbers around 275HP compared to the stock rated power of 260HP. This is achieved from a high flow intake and freer flowing exhaust system. Actual HP numbers will be interesting to see once this car makes it to production.

Another major performance mod is the suspension! Different shocks, struts, springs, and sway bars from the GT.
