Apache M230 30mm Chain Gun - Muzzle Velocity - 2600 ft/s
Rate of fire - 625rnd/m Typically fired in 50 rnd bursts Effect Range - 19,700 ft Those guys never even heard the gun that got them, the Apache was around 7,800 ft away or about a mile and a half. Speed of sound is 1100 ft/s Apache Attack helicopter = $18 million 495 gallons of Jet Fuel = $114k 100 rounds of 30mm = $3k 4 dead Iraqi insurgents = priceless

I hope you haven't posted this on other sites. That video carries a secret clearance and the fact that "your buddy" sent that to you is a big F#$% no-no. It might be hard to beleive but those insurgents have internet and they use it. A while back before we upgraded the TADS, people and trees both appeared hot (white) on screen. So, through leaked internet videos like this one, the Iraqis figured out if they run toward a tree when an Apache is around, they couldn't be seen. Of course, when we upgraded, we had a few kills with armed Iraqis hugging trees. My point... as cool as these videos are, your doing a disservice by posting them. Please, don't be part of the problem.
P.S. That is my unit's video. I've seen it a millions times. I know those pilots, and I bet I know who sent you that video. Please don't post that on the internet anymore. And if any moderators are watching, please remove it. I hate to be a party pooper, but it's simple OPSEC and we can't make it any harder on our guys over there.
