1/4 mile wheelie

Yeah, it aint a stang, but any muscle car fan will get a kick outta this.

http://www.mopar.nl/downloads/files/...nder_glass.mpg

im not very computer savvy, so you might just have to cut and paste unless somone else can hook this up.

1/4 mile in 11.97 @ 104.57 MPH standing up.

Jack The Ripper 05-25-2005 12:13 PM

Hey what do ya know, it worked.

Anyways...

Yah, imagine pullin next to a ricer in that, the ricer might turn out to be a 10 second car, but nobody is gonna notice or care once they see what this 'cuda does.

dannyb785 05-25-2005 01:28 PM

it looks kinda fake. something like this can be altered pretty easily. I dont believe it

Badfish 05-25-2005 02:04 PM

i dunno, when he lands it looks pretty real

jaybird 05-25-2005 02:42 PM

The HURST HEMI Under Glass cuda has been around for a long time. I actually saw it in person once. Trust me this video isn't fake the car can really do that and go that fast.

trust me man. that cuda is the real deal. its not that hard to do when u put that mu HP in the rear of the car w/ no weight out front.

fastmustangs1 05-25-2005 04:18 PM

How does he steer it when it's on the meats. Interesting

Matt :laughing4 :laughing4 :laughing4

Jack The Ripper 05-25-2005 04:42 PM

yah its real.
The only way he pulled it off was by moving the engine, it sits right between the wheels. that frees up a lot of weight in the front.

Hey, when i win that 180million powerball lotto, im gonna buy two 69 Boss 429's and damnit, im gonna be pulling 1/4 mile wheelies with one, and just driving around with the other

I dont think he does, he might just line it up and fire away and keep track of his trajectory by gauging the distance to the wall out the window.

dannyb785 05-25-2005 06:55 PM

there is no way he could line the car up so perfectly to run the 1/4 mile straight thur unless he was on rails. And even the best transmission has a slight hesitation between shifts and that small period would push the car's front wheels back on. Also, if it really had THAT much power, no way itd stay doing a wheelie..it'd pretty much do a backflip withot a wheelie bar. I still say bs unless someone can PROVE otherwise

You're a tard. The engine is in the back of the car. How could it not do a wheelie??

Trip139 05-25-2005 09:50 PM

I dont think this can prove anything, but i would imagine that if i was in a crowd that had just seen a feat like that there would be more clapping and cheering, not just one lonely whistle.

ok first of all, its prolly got a powerglide tranny. only one shift to make and makes too quick to hesitate. secondly if hes got a spool rearend, which he prolly does, it will pretty much go STRAIGHT down the track. thoes hurst cars have been around for years. idk what rock uve been under but its time to wake up.

rebelyell 05-25-2005 10:27 PM

I,ve seen hemi under glass run before. Pretty standard "wheel stander" seen at nearly any IHRA event. I've seen semi trucks, School buses, and many other wheel standers. They do a 1/4 mile wheel stands most of the time. The driver has to hit just right though. You gotta give em credit for pulling it off. Kinda like feathering the throttle just right all the way down the track. They are usually crowd favorites along with the jet cars.

rebelyell 05-25-2005 10:32 PM

And also the way he steers it is independant rear brakes. I think he has a throttle lever and 2 brake pedals. Just pump right to steer right, etc.

Mikes04stang 05-25-2005 10:34 PM

Hell Yea!!!!

Ever drove a tractor? Each rear wheel has it's own independant brake, operated by lever. Saw it in person at norwalk last year. He's also been on a show on speedvision where he drove it around a road course doing a wheelie.

Tell me how it's going to do a backflip...once the rear bumper hits the ground it stops rising...if it keeps going up, the rear tires leave the ground and he no longer does the wheelie.
