actually that is jsut a 68 mustang. They werent called bullits untill they were made a special acouple years ago. ONly difference between steve mcqueens 68 mustang and any other 68 mustang was that his was missing the pony in the front.
just a bit of mutsang info and also, im a mustang guy dont get me wrong, but i would much rather have that r/t. Plus it would of killed that mustang |

So im guessing you didnt know that steve specially built those cars. He upgraded all of the suspension and made them fast as hell. So the r/t would of gotten smoked. The engines he used were 390's and i believe he he did have a 302 in one of them for some of the other scenes. One of those bullitts still exist to this day. A police officer tracked one down many many years ago. Has it in his garage..the lazy piece of **** is just letting it rust away. He wont sell it to anyone because he thinks some day he'll fix it up. |

I'm not saying it was a production car because it wasnt. Steve built everyone one of the cars used in the film. The scence at the very end where he almost goes into a rivene is a actual stunt because a tie rod snapped and he lost complete control.

that mustang is so badass

i love it when the charger runs into the camera
|
My sister's ex was a huge mopar nut. and he said that they put smaller wheels and tires on the charger to make it spin out more so the mustang could keep up.
|
i believe it. That charger would smoke anything. If i saw one for sale i would trade my mustang in for it. Those things are freaking bad. My dad use to have one, and said when he started it up it shook the storm door at his house, and it has so much torque it went down an alley sideways once.

here's a motortrend article that pits the new Charger R/T vs. the New Mustang, and has some good trivia about that particular chase. well written article: http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...son/index.html

That's a classic. I used to have that whole chase scene uploaded to my old site too. hehe.. I like the whole movie. It's a little slow to some but who are used to action flix of today but to me it's a really good 60's movie. The part at the end where Steve McQueen chases and shoots that guy at the airport is good. Steve McQueen was the man! To me that's the best chase scene ever made. I've been watching that since I was a little kid. No joke! My dad and brother used to watch it all the time when I was growing up. I remember us even having it recorded from tv on our old Beta vcr. hehe... Old School! :pepper:
