2001 V6 Lookin' for power

I just recently bought my first car, a 2001 3.8 Mustang with a 5-Speed, and I'm looking for the easiest way to get some more driving fun out of it. I also would like to be able to put a burner in his place when I need to. Anyone got some ideas that aren't going to set me back 10k?

gears seems to be the popular choice

The usual upgrades are a air intake, exhaust, programming, underdrive pulleys, and gears. You could probably get all of that in the ballpark of $1500 to $2000 or so. Little more a little less depending on what you do your self.

Pulley, Intake, Gears, Tlok, chip...that should help the fun factor quite a bit.

Sweet, thanks.

I got an '04 sixer 5 speed, the most noticeable upgrade and most bang for your buck IMO would be this kit Superchips tuner, Crank and Pulley

Their horsepower numbers are a joke, maybe to the crank but you will feel a whole lot more pull in every gear. The tuner alone changes your throttle response a ton. (this was on an '04 "3.9" <--- ford's weird.)

That and some nice true duals and your well on the road to puttin 4 bangers to shame.

Just be ready to spin that right tire into oblivion...

I noticed one thing from modding my stang... stock, bottom grade v-6's are extremely dangerous... the traction is unpredictable, the weight too great for the skimpy tires they give you from the factory and without traction control and ALBrakes.. theyre basically granite boulders on dodge neon tires...

I forgot to mention it'd be a good $50-$100 for installation if you take it to a shop to have the crank put in... Which I would recomend unless you own a $400 torque wrench.
