ok guys, got an 04 v6 stang. not sure which tranny it has. what shifter/handle would you recommend??

You have a T-5. Look for a T-5/T-45 Shifter.

Check your door tag to double check.

Heres how to decode the tag:
You can look at your door sticker. Its listed in there as well...

Look underneath the Vin for the TR code...decode it as follows:

Transmission

A 5 character value; the first character indicates transmission type, characters 2-5 indicate spring type, Front/Rear.

yea, i was thinkin it was the T-5. just wasnt sure. what shifter would you recommend??? i want one with REALLY short throws. also is it necessary to replace the gaskets??

Go with the MGW shifter and never look back!!!

when i had my V6 i put a Steeda Triax in it. i loved it

its all preference, so pick what you like me i also like steeda.

The gasket makes it easier and you wont have as much vibration.

you dont need it, but it makes it easier becuase instead of applying new silacone all you do is drop the gasket down, mine is fuqed after onyl 5 months on use so i went back to silicone.
