stang2phast 07-07-2006 05:56 PM

well i just wanted to know because the options for a 94 gt exhausts are $H!+ so if i can get a diff year i want to

Khaos05 07-07-2006 10:26 PM

well yea...i'm about 90% sure it will fit...you shouldn't have any trouble and definetely something that a shop couldn't fix...which reminds me...if you want to be on the safe side, you could just buy the mufflers and tips and have the shop fab the rest...not a bad option at all....but good luck w/ whatever you do...

stang2phast 07-08-2006 07:26 AM

ok well iv decided to just go w/ a v6 exhaust but what other places sell mustang exhausts

MustangGt3 10-06-2006 03:59 PM

ok i need the meanest sound and the lightest weight exhaust... any ideas, then is boring the engine out worth it

spike_africa 10-07-2006 09:25 AM

dumped whatever style muffler you like, will be loud and light.

xanderxii 10-30-2006 09:15 AM

I am lookin into tuning my new 2002 v6, ideas would be appreciated ^^

sixermike 11-13-2006 09:27 AM

Ok, well I just want to know if you need a lift to do the exhaust yourself, or could I get away with jackstands?

roadracer1659 11-13-2006 09:54 PM

like most hear...i'm looking into getting a dual exhaust for my sixer...i love my car and i am planning on working on it a little (i would like the car to last until 2012...then im getting the redesigned GT!)...anyway...what would you recommend as far as a deap sounding exhaust with good hp gain? i understand that it will never sound like a GT...im just looking for a good setup that sounds nasty for a sixer! thanks!

bqnd10 01-09-2007 09:40 AM

thats good info. dude, it helps alot.

CBonesSV 04-02-2007 07:29 AM

i went with the H-pipe from pace setter and magnaflow Magnapack exhaust for my 2000 V6 and it sounds good. plus Y-pipes in my opinion sound like rice burners.

Redrum 04-10-2007 08:01 PM

What exhaust choices i have ?

hi all i just what to know what type of exhaust should i use for my 2001 mustang v6 3.8L example:

1.Mustang V6 Dual Exhaust Adapter Kit (99-04 V6)
2.MAC Catback with Stainless 3" Tips (99-04 3.8L V6)

is this setup good ??? pls help!!! thx..

Cheddarbob 04-10-2007 08:03 PM

MAC system the one that is not a y pipe

Redrum 04-11-2007 03:32 AM

which is better

1.MAC Catback with Stainless 3" Tips (99-04 3.8L V6)

or

2. Mustang V6 Dual Exhaust Adapter Kit (99-04 V6) & Pypes 409 Stainless Steel Violator Catback with Polished 304 Tips (98-04 GT)

Option 2 is much better since it gets rid of the stock y-pipe.

Mustang V6 Dual Exhaust Adapter Kit (99-04 V6) & Pypes 409 Stainless Steel Violator Catback with Polished 304 Tips (98-04 GT)

ya but i am gonna get a duel kit so i do the the adaptor. but i guess not headers

Cheddarbob 06-09-2007 09:28 PM

you dont need to replace the headers and still if your going dual you dont need that kit its a waste just buy the a GT catback and take it to a shop and they will make a mid pipe and ur done

The PaceSetter website doesn't show any midpipes for V6s that I can find. Do you have a part number for the one used?

*Edit: Nevermind, I guess the adapter kit was used. Not an actual midpipe. I just wasn't thinking at the time.

What is the difference between the 94-95 V6s and the 96-04s? The Pypes x-pipe is listed as fitting 96-04. I am not too impressed with the MAC catted h-pipe I got for my 95 V6. It is already starting to rust in some places and the flanges do not seal well, even with MAC headers.

Scott

96TangerineBossGT 06-11-2007 03:56 PM

Ok so I found out that the 96-04s have both sensors in the midpipe, whereas my 95 has the front sensors in the headers. So that difference would be easy to compensate for by simply capping off the bung, but I still haven't come across a definitive answer as to whether or not the pipe routing, hangers, etc is the same.

my 07 has a senser before and after the factory cat.it made it much easier to use a set of mac shorty headers. pypes x pipe and connector pipes to the mac mufflers i allready had.
side note .i tryed after market cats and lost dyno rwhp over the stock cats. just shows how well the new cats do flow and work.

I read through this thread and didnt see anything that really interested me. From what I hear, SLP makes a good sounding setup. This is what I was thinking:

http://www.americanmuscle.com/v6duexadkit1.html

http://www.americanmuscle.com/slpxc99.html

http://www.americanmuscle.com/slppoca9gt.html

That should be a good setup, and all I need. Any comments?

Cheddarbob 06-21-2007 06:07 PM

I dont think you need the first 1

I dont? I thought I needed the adapter to fit the mid pipe correctly? Or did I misread the information?

The adapter would be to fit the stock piping to a GT muffler system, so you would need that to be able to use the SLP muffler system. However, that x-pipe you gave a link to is for a V8 mustang, not a V6. You would need to use what you gave in the first and third links, or buy an appropriate V6 specific midpipe and use what you gave in the third link.
